I would just add the female model and not have a lot of customization options for players that might need to be balanced or take away from the game.

I’d love to at least be able to choose gender, vr is about immersion and it sucks not being able to play as the right gender

I definitely believe the game needs a female model.. or at the very least female hand options for your own perspective.

it can be a little disconcerting to suddenly have man hands, simply because you've joined a WWII map.

Hello!
I would love to see female characters too, with the usual model I feel it has too much gear...or is fat? Hehe.
Also I would suggest a model similar to Violette from Velvet Assassin? (Based on an actual girl who fought in WW2)
She even carries a small gun in her back (with a carrier on her belt).

I’d like to be able to play as a female character to match my own gender, otherwise, the immersion isn't there. Tired of VR FPS forcing us to play males while social VR is dominated with female avatars, wonder why
